I hired Fred at inland pools to install my new above ground swimming pool. We agreed on a price and the work was scheduled to be done in a 2 day period with a dig on one day and a install on the second day. Fred arrived at about 11am the first day and we discussed options. The plan was to leave the dirt and he said that he would spread it out over the existing yard and make it look nice.
As he started to spread out the dirt he quickly realized that there was no way that he would be able to get all the dirt spread out. He informed me that he would have to haul the dirt out and it would cost me a additional $600. Once he decided to take the dirt he tore up my yard to get the dirt out and left my yard a complete disaster. In the process of moving the dirt he covered my driveway with dirt and made no attemt to clean it. Fred later left and around 4pm another crew showed up to set up the pool.
The crew that set up the pool were younger kids and did a nice job setting up the pool. It was starting to get dark and the job was still unfinished I assumed that they would be back the next day to finish spreading out the dirt, back fill around the pool and clean driveway. Fred showed back up around 8pm and started to remove some of the remaining dirt.
It was getting dark and hard to see. I assumed Fred would be back again to finish smoothing out dirt and clean up driveway and finish job. I did pay Fred before he left becasue I was not going to be home the next day. At the end of this day there was dirt rocks and sand all over my driveway. There was garbage and scraps from pool install laying on the driveway.
There was pop bottles and cans and cigarette butts laying in the dirt/yard. The next morning I noticed 3 new large cracks in my driveway the smallest being 2ft long and the largest being nearly 48 long. I assume they were from the skid loader. The next day came and went with no sign, contact or call from Fred. I sent him a message telling him that I was upset about how things were left and that the job did not seem finished and that I expected these things to be finished.
No response or return call. After he got his $4000 his phone would not answer my calls or messages. What was supposed to be a happy time to enjoy our new pool has turned into a absolute nightmare. There is so much work that has been made and left. I knew that there would need to be some landscaping around the pool. The way my yard was left and my driveway was left is absolutely unacceptable.
I am not one to leave a bad review. In this instance I feel that it is important for me to tell others to do your research and stay clear of inland pools. Fred was one person before he was paid and completely non responsive once he was paid. His care about his customers goes as far as the payment. He will treat you will right up to the point of payment.
Before hiring inland pools reach out to other pool installers and make sure that you are happy before you hand over money. Fred still has yet to get back intouch with me. It is clear to me that he has zero interest in making things right. Other than taking him to court leaving this review of my experience is my only recorse. I truly wish it was a different review. I wish more than anything that Fred would've reached out to me to make things right.
