We hired Doug to build our pool in in 2016. The design was exactly what we wanted and the pool was completed within 3 months. We were very pleased with the project and hired them to do a small kitchen project to replace the lighting. That took a week and came out great. Last year we hired Doug to do a our kitchen and bathroom remodels. They came out great!
One thing I liked about Doug was he let me purchase a lot of the materials and fixtures and his team did the construction. He also gave me great recommendations for things they don't do, like window replacement. Clearly we have been very happy with the work and we will use Chaparral for our next project.

Very responsive to changing needs as the remodel was going on. They rebuilt our master bath, combined two rooms for a bigger game room, and put in a killer outdoor kitchen. Every time there was a new sub coming out or if there was ever a question, they were always on site (even though their office is on the other side of town). They were very interactive in selecting materials, accessories, etc. They made great recommendations which made the final product look great.

Two years into my Chaparral pool build and I cannot express enough how much my family loves our pool! Doug, the owner, actually invented the swimming pool. I think. From the first shovel scoop to adding the last drop of water, Doug was there to see everything was up to his standards. After the build he has even helped my friends and neighbors with additional patio projects. I feel confident recommending this company if your looking for a solid pool builder.

After extensive research over the course of several years, we chose Doug and company to build our pool. After building our house from the ground up, we felt like there were specific things we were looking for in a builder. Most importantly, we knew that adherence to budget, honesty, and timeliness were going to be critical. I'm happy to say Doug hit the mark on all these points.
After extensive rain delays, Doug was still able to keep his schedule and complete our pool before the summer swim season. As issues came up, particularly around specification and product selections, Doug handled these in stride and stood by his contract. This honesty is key in any construction project. At the end of the day, we ended up with a fantastic product and we paid what we agreed to.
You can't ask for much more. We've had very little post-construction issues, but Doug did respond within a day or two on the one item we had to get fixed. I think Doug's prices are competitive in the Austin market, trending towards better value then some of the bigger players. His subcontractors used quality materials and the specifications of the pool were competitive to our other bids.
Everything built met or exceeded the spec - I never had to question or ask to have something changed.
Also, kudos to Doug's Pool construction foreman and plumber - Pat is an artist.

I began my journey with Doug Kurtz and The Chaparrel Group when he renovated my Medical Clinics. He went on to design and build our dream home in Austin. Since then he has put in an incredible custom pool, and is currently working on a beautiful deck to marry our home with our pool. My wife and I cannot wait.
