We hired Elite Pools and Service to put a pool in at our home this past spring. We paid Elite (Jeffrey Phillips) SEVENTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($17,000) and all we have to show for it is a huge hole in our backyard, a broken irrigation system and a broken fence. After digging this hole, Phillips quit responding to our attempts to reach him. We have now terminated our contract and we're proceeding with legal action against him.
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!
Over the course of the last few months while doing some investigating, I've learned of MORE FAMILIES in our area with similar experiences with Jeff Phillips. Through information provided to me by them, I've learned that these families have paid him almost NINETY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($90,000)!!! only to have Phillips essentially disappear. Even though the chance of recovering any of this money from Phillips/Elite Pools and Service is slim (to zero), we're doing everything we can to have him prosecuted. And, even though being in this situation is extremely embarrassing for me (I should've known better, done more research about him, etc.), I'm posting this to try to prevent Jeff Phillips from doing this to any more unsuspecting, trusting people.
