Hired Patio Pools to remove old marcite finish & tile, reinstall new marcite finish and new tile. Pool finish looks great, however, we are very disappointed on the way the new tile was installed. We paid good money for this job and even paid extra for a premium tile. Frankly, the old tile looked better than the new tile. Wish we had not replaced the tile.
The problem with the tile is that the installer did not take into account that it had both square and rectangle pieces in the pattern. Therefore, at every angle in our pool the installer either left very large grout lines and/or little pieces. It looks very tacky. When you look at the tile your eyes are immediately drawn to each angle where the tile was poorly installed.
The tile was purchased from Patio Pool's showroom and they should know how to install or we should have been advised before it was installed. I am so disappointed with the end results! We have spoken to Patio Pools to air our concerns, however, we have not heard any further as of yet. Something needs to be done.

The crew at Patio Pools were amazing to work with. Being the first time building a pool, I was very sketical and proceeded with caution considering the changes in the industry. From the first time I spoke with Matt Jr., I knew they were the company for me. Matt walked me through every possible scenario during the design and had an extreme amount of patience answering my million questions.
Upon signing the contract and permitting the crew was immediately out to begin work. Through the process I was informed every step of the way of what to expect and what was going to be happening next. The site managers were always available by phone and even responded to my texts in the evenings. All the crews were sincere and had no problem with me asking questions.
I was very pleased with the outcome. My only issue is a few of the pavers are rocking a bit after settling. Big deal. I'm sure guys will have no issue addressing this. I'm not even worried about it. After the build, i had pool school with JP. He taught me so much. This is my first pool so I was a bit overwhelmed with understanding how to properly operate and maintain the equipment.
I was extremely confident when he left. And to make things even better, the guys in the store are amazing. Rob is practically a dinosaur in the industry and lets just say he knows a lot about pool chemistry and how to properly care for your investment. He was wonderful to work with. I will gladly drive a little extra to support this family owned business. They have my utmost respect and support.

Patio Pool did a fantastic job on our pool. We had an amazing experience and couldn't be happier with our decision to use their company. It was such a pleasure working with Matt. He was professional, extremely knowledgeable, patient and honest. He was always accessible, stayed in constant communication with us throughout the entire process and still responds quickly to all my questions 7 months after completion. Matt isn't the only great thing about the company.
It was a pleasure working with the entire team. The construction crew was professional and courteous. Paul, Kenny and Matt Sr. addressed all of my questions and concerns during the construction phase, and made sure the site was clean on a daily basis. Robert at the retail store was such a joy to work with. He was very knowledgeable, and brought a smile to my face every time I visited the store.
The warranty department provided excellent customer service. We had a few, minor issues after completion and they resolved them in a timely manner. I cannot recommend this company enough! If you are looking for a quality, family owned pool company who is honest, and stands behind their work, look no further. You will not be disappointed with Patio Pools! We absolutely love our backyard oasis!

Wow.we couldn't be happier! From the very first meeting in which Matt helped us design the perfect pool to project completion and "Pool School" the experience was a pleasure. The Patio Pools team has the construction process down to an art form and has great communication with both the homeowners and subs. From start to finish the process was 5 months (including permits and COVID material delays) and from breaking ground it was 3 months. We have recommend them to several friends and if we ever have another pool built they hands down will be our choice.

We signed with Patio pools in feb 2021 with the impression that the entire job would be completely hands off and to our expectations. Our friends who recommended/referred us are still awaiting the $100 referral (for a new pool) that was advised to be provided by the sales consultant. This review is being provided upon the documentation that Patio Pools has requested customer feedback.
We had some special requests which were promised upon when we signed the dotted line that became a little blurry during the construction. We were made to believe we were receiving a quality custom pool but in the end we would say it's definitely custom but pretty standard in quality. The pool finish was very messy, stained numerous coping and pavers which the warranty team did address but we have also hired a paver sealing company to fix ones they missed.
The interior finish wasn't as smooth as we had expected and just seemed sloppy to our expectation. To top it off, we had to brush our pool twice a day for a month in order for the finish to "cure" properly to not void the warranty. If we had an option for "Pebble-tech", allegedly that would not have been necessary. We did have many custom requests, a tear down of our old patio/construction of a brand new patio area and roof, a sun shelf, a bench around the one side of the pool and a raised spa.
The hot tub and how the jets are installed were not explained initially and we were not aware that the therapy jets would be exposed on the exterior and are extremely noisy. We compared with friends who went with other builders and their jets were installed underground or away from the spa so they didn't have this issue. When brought up during the build we were advised this is how Patio Pools does their spas so just be aware if you are looking to install a spa.
Please know that Patio Pools does make an effort to keep the customer happy but can only do so much within their control. They do contract out much of the work to other companies and you are required to check on them and make sure you ask questions or have them pick up materials as we had to ask Patio Pools to come out numerous times to pick up items that should have been cleaned up.
The "final cleanup" that is supposed to be done before the interior pool finish is completed was done way too early on our build. It was done prior to the cage of the pool being installed which left us with aluminum metal shards on our brand new patio in between the pavers, trash and metal debris in the bottom of the pool, glass tile pieces in our yard, concrete runoff from the footers and pool finish.
This was later addressed but merely subpar compared to what we had expected based on our conversations from a sales rep and the super intendant. The tile we initially chose we were later told that their installers would not install as it didn't follow the proper conditions, this was not an issue for us but we were told weeks after our initial choice and the week of the installation date.
I did have to take a day off work to travel to 4 different tile companies in the Tampa area to locate tile that was in stock and not delay our build process. We followed up with numerous individuals in the company during our entire process and asked a ton of questions. I cannot stress enough to do your research and make sure to constantly check in on the progress to confirm you are receiving the items you ordered and envisioned.
As for the retail store, everyone there is super accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful to all new pool owners! We are pleased with the end result, however if we hadn't felt rushed with making a decision on choosing a company before prices changed we may have gone with someone else. All in all - Average company - 3 Stars.

From the start Patio Pools felt honest and like they weren't trying to upsell and they designed exactly what we asked for. I also liked that it was a family owned and operated business. Every builder works with numerous subcontractors so the quality of those subcontractors and the relationship they have with the builder is important. I felt all the subcontractors (who often work for multiple builders) felt good about Patio and they said good things.
That was reassuring when you think about a big hole filled with water adjacent to your house. Someone from Patio stopped by after every significant milestone to check on things. There were a few mistakes along the way that we pointed out and in every case they were rectified promptly. I appreciated that.

We started researching pool companies and after talking to 5 companies we picked Patio Pools. They listened and helped us build a pool we wanted instead of trying to steer us to their preferences to make it easier for them. Every time we asked a question along the way they answered us. We worked with Matt and he was awesome. After our pool was done he came over on his own free time and help us set up and acid wash the deck so we could have it ready for Super Bowl.

I strongly recommend Patio Pools, Inc. Excellent job with remodeling my existing pool area. Clearly outlined scope of project and milestones. Great communication and on time for each stage of process. Workers were respectful and made sure my property was clean before ending each day. Extremely satisfied with end result! Service: Remodeling

Highly recommend Patio! This is the second pool I've built in the last five years my experience was exceptional especially when you consider all pool builders are are swamped and dealing with COVID delays. A number of companies were so busy they wouldn't even call us back. My permits were returned in three weeks and even though we experienced minor material delays, Patio was very communicative. There employees and companies they used were top notch and I can't recommend them enough! Build with Patio

RUN AWAY from this company. Dishonest, unprofessional, and their contracted services are terrible! I could write a book on all of the issues, let's just say communication and customer service are NOT exactly their strong points (I should have known after zero callbacks for a quote and having to call the accounting dept to reach anyone!) I still CANNOT believe I paid over $50k for a pool from this company and went through the NIGHTMARE I did. ZERO communication and they turn the blame on the lender or the customer as to why no one is there working on your project.
They technically failed our first inspection because WORK WAS JUST NOT COMPLETED (but they lucked out and got an inspector that gave them a second chance and came back later that day). My new patio roof was leaking in 2 spots (after being "fixed" I settled for only 1 leak I have to live with now), trash was left scattered across my pool and yard for weeks (boxes, scraps, old water bottles, empty soda cans, empty gas station cups, etc) as if my backyard was their personal trash can.
They originally put our bubbler and umbrella hole in the wrong spot--we had to hound them to fix it because their excuse was they kept "forgetting" to come back and fix it. They ran over a neighbor's trampoline that they were too lazy to move to avoid hitting (was not even on my property) and the biggest frustration was being lied to about being able to install ceiling fan hookups/wiring by Nancy the salesperson--this so the sole reason we stopped shopping around for pool companies as we were assured the electrical we needed was absolutely no issue.
We are left without ceiling fans on our patio now. We paid for wiring also for a pool heater to be installed later on if we choose to do so. We ended up purchasing a heater from another company and they weren't able to use the pre-wiring we paid for from Patio Pools because of course it was not done right (yes, we received a credit back for this!).
Thank goodness the pool heater company we used knew what they were doing, at least someone did! Patio no-showed for weeks with NO communication, cut our internet cord (not in one spot but TWO) and lied about it to my face stating they didn't (I lost 2 days of work when the ORANGE wire was RIGHT in front of them on the ground at their feet--done on purpose? Wouldn't put it past them!).
This company had our screen materials delivered at 6am one day with ZERO communication they were coming (almost didn't end well since we thought someone was breaking into my home being right outside our bedroom window). The concrete man working for the concrete company stated it was his first day and he had no idea what he was doing (this was an overheard conversation) and messed up our concrete on one side--leaving us 3 inches short on our patio and crushed in one spot and uneven in various areas.
We now have to live with this (oh, but we were offered a $54 credit for the concrete issues). The other concrete guy had sat in his truck waiting for the mixing truck to arrive and put the shades up in all the windows in the truck for an hour--I don't even want to know what he was doing but it may explain some of the concrete imperfections above.
The man who came to fill our pool at the end followed in true Patio Pools fashion and put the hose on the fill it up--left without telling anyone and never came back, never saw or heard from him again! Please, do yourself a favor. FIND ANOTHER pool company with some class and work ethic, one that has some pride in the work they do. Matt is the construction supervisor (a joke!) who makes Kenny do all the things he doesn't want to do or deal with, Nancy will lie to you about what your contract really entails and Gina will be the person you have to fight for a refund from due to shotty work. If this sounds like a 7 month nightmare you want to live as we did, sign that contract today! (I must add, NONE of our setbacks were Covid related--not one!)

Building our backyard pool with Patio Pools was an amazing experience. They worked with us for months (on our timeline) to get the design just right, were extremely helpful in answering questions and providing options, and always maintained a positive can-do attitude. Once the project began, their teams worked quickly and at a very high level of quality.
The entire 14,000 gallon pool with oversized deck and lanai took just 5 weeks from dig to water-in-pool; incredible. All the teams (dig team, concrete, patio, tile, lanai, etc) that came to work said the same thing - "patio pools gets it done". Even when we decided to change our tile choice on the spa after some of it had already been put in place, Patio Pools made the change happen at nominal cost, stayed on schedule, and showed a commitment to making things perfect that I so appreciated. Special shout out to Matt, Paul and Kenny, who provided non-stop A+ service. Our kids are in this 7 days a week, and we couldn't be happier.

DO NOT USE PATIO POOLS FOR A REMODEL. Run as far away as you can from Patio Pools. Worst company we have ever dealt with. We contracted with Patio Pools in November 2019 for a full pool remodel (add sun shelf, add in pool umbrella holder, refinish interior) and it's been nothing but issues ever since. Their contract (shame on us for trusting them) is so one-sided. Instead, we will likely be paying another local company to fix Patio Pool's screw ups.
They will never show up on time, their sub-contractors don't show up on time and forget about their "warranty" because it's useless. I have dates and times of all communications with everyone from Matt to Jina in their office and NOT ONE PERSON is helpful or even useful in resolving anything. We have an umbrella that wobbles in any direction over 6" each way and frankly, looks rigged at best.
They don't care that the work is shoddy and state that's what they install in all pools so basically, deal with it even though their own worker (Kenny) came out to see it and stated it didn't look right to him. The umbrella holder is missing a cap too but no one there seems to want to admit that either. The pool finish (which was blown by a subcontractor in the DARK literally) is rough in far too many spots and not even around tile edges.
They came to smooth wavy stairs and a few of the finish areas one time and broke tiles while they were doing so resulting in our pool having to be partially drained again to fix tiles. We'd call them out again to smooth edges but we're scared of the additional damage they'd do. The finish coating is still (7 months later) a splotchy mess but every time we asked, we were told it takes time and will even out. I'm guessing at this point, that's not going to happen.
No amount of daily brushing seems to help. We received a warning from the Hillsborough Environmental Protection Commission for how they drained our pool and kept the pump running to keep is drained for weeks and even after telling them what the warning was, they turned around and partially drained our pool improperly again. Overall, what I'm saying is this - DO NOT CHOOSE PATIO POOLS UNLESS YOU LIKE SUBPAR WORK, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND A USELESS WARRANTY!

Our experience with Patio Pool was outstanding. In less than 7 weeks our pool with spa, large paver deck and screen enclosure was finished and we can't be happier with our new backyard oasis. Matthew made the design and sales process a breeze. His industry knowledge, professionalism and attention to detail are exceptional. Matthew promptly and patiently answered our many questions and we valued his suggestions when it came to material and color choices for the deck, tile and pool finish.
Being able to visualize the end product via the 3D video of the pool design was super cool. Big thank you to Paul, Matt and Kenny for overseeing and timely scheduling of all the different crews; making the construction phase efficient and flawless. JP has been great with teaching us how to operate the EZ touch system and gave helpful tips on how to keep our pool crystal clear. Great experience all around. Thanks again Patio Pools! Joe & Mandy

Simply THE BEST! I can not recommend Patio Pools enough. The contractors they use, speed in which they work and ease of process are all top notch. Our pool from start to finish took about 35 days, we have neighbors using other pool builders going on 3-6 month build times. Everyone has been a pleasure to work with and I still stop in weekly to have my water tested and purchase chemicals as needed.
Their retail store is cheaper than others, I price checked against competitors. Warranty has also been great for the minor issues that have come up after completion. Don't go anywhere else just trust me, Patio Pools is the way to get your pool done right!

If no stars or negative star ratings were allowed, Patio Pools would have gotten negative ratings. Final changes to our design never made it to the final drawing. Nancy lied and said Olympus pools is going out of business to finalize a contract. The owner is argumentative and offered our deposit back when we called them out on the lies. Workmanship is that of a 1st grader at best.
From the rebar installer fishing in my pond and neglecting the quality of work expected. to their tile/coping hack job. this company is a complete joke. Best of all. the warranty manager Gina uses every tactic to deflect any warranty concerns. My pool interior is pitting and crumbling and she refers to the warranty stating this is normal. DO NOT.I REPEAT. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THEIR PRODUCT OR SERVICE! Dig a hole and fill it with water yourself if you're that desperate, but DO NOT use this company.

Patio pools promised a quality pool built in less than 2 months. Although maybe a bit skeptical, I was very impressed with their communication and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. We were not disappointed! Patio pools more than delivered on their promise. From beginning to end, the communication was stellar, and the crews were quickly scheduled making the project flow smoothly. The end result is an amazingly beautiful pool that was completed in 5 weeks. We will recommend patio pools over and over again!

We, my wife and I, were very particular when we decided to look for a pool builder. Or so we thought. Being form NY - migrated to Tampa in 2010 - we initially decided on a well known pool builder here in Tampa and chose them based on the scale of their enterprise. What a big mistake that was. After signing a contact we reviewed this enterprise's reviews on the BBB and could not believe the number of horrendous reviews they had on BBB.
I was not going to chance spending thousand of dollars to be utterly disappointed with the end result product and headaches during the pool construction. We broke the contract and started to keep looking for a more stable and highly rated pool builder. Well, like a knight in shinning armor Matt Messer of Patio pools showed showed up - on schedule I might add - at our home with the most convincing and professional presentation of why Patio Pools should be are pool builder.
I can say without a shadow of doubt that Patio Pools has to be the top performing Pool Builder in Tampa Bay. How can I say this without knowing the performance level of all the area's pool builders? Well, for one, I have several co-workers that have procured different pool builders for their pool build and remodeling projects, and just about everyone of them has a horror story of some sort with the level of quality and results.
Some with scheduling issues and others with the final results of quality. With Patio pools I experienced nothing short of a Pool sales, construction, and post pool build support nirvana. From the 2 Matt Messers (the Younger & Sr) to the delightful and responsive warranty executive Gina, to Robert and Victor and the rest of the retail store staff. This enterprise has perfected customer satisfaction and professionalism.
It wouldn't surprise me if they patented their Pool sales, construction, and post pool build support model. Other Tampa Bay area Pool builders need to take notes and learn how to initiate, plan, execute, and monitor and control a pool build project, because Patio Pool's has it down pat and I'm sure if they had the scale they would take over the pool building industry in Tampa Bay! Can you tell I'm a native NYer who loves my Patio Pool? You Betcha! It's ISLAND TIME!

We started our relationship with Patio Pools in Sept 2018;! Our delay was Pasco County permits because of our specific property, nothing to do with Patio pools. Our permit finally came through end of November 2018. Right after Thanksgiving break Patio Pools got started! They were organizing and had all their Sub-Contractors lines up and scheduled, one after another. NO Waiting around and guessing who's coming this week.
Even during the Christmas holidays and New Years someone was working! Our beautiful pool was completed 1st wk of January, final Inspection was January 11. Super easy company to work with! Keep In contact with Paulie, Matt and Gina and you can't go wrong. In my opinion, I would highly recommend their pool building services! Lis P.

Absolutely stunning work! Beautiful pre designed or custom designed pools and spas to fit your needs. Nancy is an absolute delight to work with and she will see you through from beginning to end. A year after our pool was completed, the staff is still amazing and will help you with anything you need. Great prices, selection and staff. You can't go wrong with Patio Pools.

Our backyard paradise! We can't say enough wonderful things about the amazing job Patio Pools provides us! From the first meeting with Nancy we knew this was the company. Not only did they deliver on all promises made, they completed our Island Oasis in sooner than expected! We highly recommend them to anyone looking for excellent quality work, with an attentive, polite and wonderful staff!

I love Patio Pools and is very thankful for the amazing and educational service they provide. I've been coming here for 3 years now and as a new home owner with a pool this place is a life saver. I get everything needed for my pool here at very reasonably price. Robert and victor are life savers. Ask them about the customer who sat on her filter to close it tight! Lol.
I have nothing but good things to say. 10% discount on everything for those who pay the annual fee or they they build your pool. Thanks to Robert and Victor I've become somewhat of a pool expert

Patio Pools did an outstanding job building our dream pool. It only took them about 5-6 weeks, due to weather, to complete our pool. Nancy did a great job walking us through the contract and pool design process. When I went into the store Gena was very helpful with my warranty questions, and Robert did an amazing job teaching me about my equipment.
Since I've never owned a pool before, this was a great big help. Overall I would recommend Patio Pools to anybody looking to get a great pool built in a reasonable timeframe and a good budget.
